The $170 million expansion, “The Next Evolution in Health Care” officially opened April 2007 and consists of a 6-story patient tower addition, 1,000 car parking garage, 5-story medical office building, connecting walkways/skybridge and relocation/expansion of numerous departments.

The nation’s first all-digital, cardiac focused hospital opened in early 2003. The $44 million/166,600 s.f. hospital includes 48 patient rooms, 32 outpatient rooms, 4 cath labs, imaging suite, 4 operating rooms and a 24/7 emergency department and attached POB.
St. Vincent Carmel Hospital

The $22 million expansion completed in April 2003 included extensive redevelopment of the sitework infrastructure, addition of 50,000 s.f. of medical office space, 100,000 s.f. of hospital space, and a new main entry and lobby.
St. Vincent Hospital

From 2005 to 2007 the original hospital building, built in the early 1970’s, underwent an $8 million overcladding using GFRC and composite aluminum panels. The existing Corten panels were cut through so that a new steel “exoskeleton” could be attached back to the existing structure to support the new façade.

The $8.7 million project was completed in Fall of 2005. The 54,000 s.f. Memory Care Wing, constructed to care for Alzheimer’s patients, consists of 32 private rooms, nurses stations, lounge areas, dining/activity rooms and administrative offices. Unit ‘E’ Health Care involved 20,000 s.f of interior renovations of skilled-care nursing area.

The $6.5 million project completed in February 2007 features 28 private exam rooms, 2 trauma rooms, 3 nurse stations, new x-ray room, waiting lounge and enclosed ambulance garage. A 50’ x 50’ helicopter landing pad was also added to the roof including a two-stop hydraulic elevator and stairway.

The $7.3 million expansion completed in January 2007 consisted of a 14,000 s.f. 1st floor addition of the new Surgery Center as well as remodeling of the existing MOB and 8,000 s.f. addition on the 2nd and 3rd floors for tenant office space. Sitework included new parking areas, connector drive and relocation of utilities.

Emergency Department Expansion and Renovation completed in March 2006. The project required a 12-month schedule of multiple phases to enlarge a new ED nearly double in size from the original department. Along with new main entry, family lounge/waiting room and triage area, the new ED included two new trauma rooms, nurse stations, store rooms, decontamination rooms, 14 new exam rooms, staff lounge and EMT space.
Central Nine Career Center

Central Nine Career Center is a public vocational school shared by nine Indianapolis south-suburban high schools. The $5.1 million addition and renovation to their existing campus was completed over the course of 15 months utilizing a multi-phased schedule that allowed the school to occupy much needed classroom space as it became available. The addition included large group instruction space, a culinary arts dining room, medical laboratory instruction, dental hygiene instruction, as well as a new automated greenhouse for use by the horticulture program. Renovation areas included diesel, auto body, and motorcycle shop areas as well as public restrooms and new locker facilities.

Franklin Central High School
New Athletic Facility

The Franklin Township Athletic Center project is a 20,000 s.f., two-story facility consisting of a precast concrete stadium including locker rooms, training rooms, coaches areas, storage rooms and two concession areas. A two level press box and a four stop elevator is also included in the project.
Covenant Christian High School

The new 69,000 s.f. facility included traditionally educational functions including a gymnasium, IT space and large dining/meeting area rotunda.
Brownsburg Christian Church

The $8.5 million/73,000 s.f. new church evolved over seventeen months of construction completing in November 2001. Included in the construction was an education wing, worship center, dining/food service, administrative area and connecting narthex.
Kingsway Christian Church

The 50,000 square foot addition was completed under a negotiated contract and included both new construction integrated into existing facilities and renovation of existing classrooms. The project was completed on a 12 month accelerated schedule to accommodate increased enrollment. Subsequently a new baptistery and theater enhancements were completed in the sanctuary.
Plainfield Christian Church

Plainfield Christian Church expanded their existing facilities with the addition of a integrated 40,000 s.f. Family Life Center. Construction, performed under a negotiated contract included a gymnasium with theater related enhancements, choir room, full kitchen and storage space. The project also included expanding parking and interior renovations. The new structure was constructed to match existing exterior architecture.

Construction of the 60,000 square foot facility was constructed under a negotiated contract with mechanical and electrical systems completed on a design-build basis. The building interiors are primarily open space and include training space with European style finishes throughout.
IUPUI Tunnel Repair

The $1.25 million project was completed in May 2008. The project consisted of replacing existing utility tunnel concrete tops and various wall sections. Wall section replacements ranged from the top two feet to full depth 12 foot wall sections.

SMC Pneumatics

This 100,000 square foot manufacturing and warehouse addition also included a two-story 30,000 square foot office addition to house the U.S. Headquarters of this Japanese owned firm. The project was performed on a design-build basis.
Plainfield Recreation & Aquatic Center

This $20 million/20 acre project consists of an outdoor and indoor aquatic center and recreation facility. Leisure, competition and tot pools are showcased in a tropical theme setting. Large water slides, winding rivers, basketball courts and running track are also features of this popular family recreation venue which opened Summer 2004.
Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds

The new $19 million fairgrounds was completed in June 2006. The project consists of a 35,000 s.f. community building, eight pre-engineered buildings, several other concrete masonry unit and wood framed buildings and site improvements to 110 of the 150 acre site including new road construction, sidewalks and installation of site utilities.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The $14.3 million/65,000 s.f. replica of the original 1925 Pagoda was completed for the 2000 Indianapolis 500 following 18 months of construction. The 10-story building houses race control, broadcast and security functions, as well as private hospitality suites. The Pagoda received the National ABC Award of Excellence in 2000. It features a unique structural glazing system that provides viewers wide open sight lines around the building.
In addition to the $4 million/65,000 s.f. Administration Building, Summit has completed many other projects at IMS including the garages and track wall.
